There is an article in the Kansas City Star, “Shame on McCain and Palin for using an old code word for black” written by Lewis Diuguid. Lewis is an editorial page columnist and writes for a living, so I would expect for him to throw in a few controversial articles as it is good for the readership number ratings. You know, if it bleeds, it leads. I learned in a press presentation that three things will affect whether a journalist will push a story: 1) a horrific happening, such as dead bodies, Charles Manson-type killings, etc. 2) “Normal” murders, spouse beatings, etc. and 3) strong emotional issues, such as race, torturing puppies, etc.
