The gun laws in Mexico are even more draconian in Mexico.  A United States citizen was sentenced to 12 years in a Mexican jail for having a single shotgun shell that had wedged itself under the carpeting in the man’s trunk after a season of duck hunting.  The shell was not seen when he cleaned out the trunk and was only discovered by Mexican border police when they searched his vehicle.
