The world’s largest atom ‘masher is about to be fired up next week.
Otto Rossler, himself a German chemist, and a few other scientists filed suit in the European Court for Human Rights to stop CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) from turning on the machine.
It seems like his claim is right out of science fiction, Stargate, or a Robert Heinlein novel. They claim this atomic collider will create an extremely small “black hole”. After the machine is turned off, the black hole will survive and start eating the earth from the inside out. Pretty soon
POOF!
Dr Walter Wagner and science writer Luis Sancho also filed a lawsuit in Hawaii saying the collider would push the earth into a parallel universe.
