Independence

Being that it is Independence Day in this great Republic, The United States of America, I find it fitting to refer you to a great article posted from a place you would normally associate with hippies, war protestors and flag burners (the U.S. flag, not any other one), Santa Cruz, California.

Taps To Honor America’s Heroes

I had been playing trumpet for just over a year.  Being in the eighth grade, it was unusual to get a call on our party-line home phone from a total stranger.  The man on the phone asked me if I could play taps on Monday evening for President John Kennedy who had been assassinated the previous Friday. Indiana and the Liberal Temple of Doom – Part 1 of 5

I have had the pleasure of visiting the Great State of Indiana.  One time around Christmas I experienced the severe effects of Global Warming with temperatures chilling me to the bone despite an extremely well insulated down coat, boots and gloves.

My teeth still chatter to this very day as I recall the snow (very pretty with the Christmas lights (yes, they still have Christmas lights in Indiana, despite the Democrat Party Machine slowly gaining control). Read more »
