I wanted to start off the new year right just like those Texans like to do: get a large caliber handgun and fire it in celebration of the new year, but that idea was nixed as I live in the oppressive fiefdom of California. As I was going to try and take my trumpet outside and blare out a few minutes of celebratory notes, I was informed that I could not play the trumpet past 10 PM due to sound pollution regulations. I have in front of me a brightly-burning Yule log. I am watching a fireplace fire on TV-36 here in the San Francisco Bay area in California.
Do you think virtual fireplaces are a strange invention? I mean, they give out no heat and the snaps and crackles of water vapor exploding from the logs seem artificial. Read more »
Washington, D.C. passed the most strict gun control laws that made it impossible to even store a firearm at home even when you needed for your job.
The Heller decision handed down by the Supreme Court of the United States struck down the law. Immediately, the city council passed another law that did the same thing. Eventually that law was eliminated and the Second Amendment was reaffirmed. Read more »
Being that it is Independence Day in this great Republic, The United States of America, I find it fitting to refer you to a great article posted from a place you would normally associate with hippies, war protestors and flag burners (the U.S. flag, not any other one), Santa Cruz, California.
Entitled ”As We See It: Declaration of Independence: Great in any version”, it is a great post and I recommend you read it.
To stimulate your appetite, here is an excerpt:
But when a government becomes tyrannical and abusive with consistent, repeated violations of the people’s rights, with the intent to make them slaves of the state, then the people have the right — in fact, the duty — to revolt and put new safeguards in place to protect their future rights.
Enjoy your freedom. It was earned by brave men and women that gave their lives, fortunes and souls for our initial and continued freedom from despots and repressive politicians.
Pray to God with worship and thanks, as He is our Creator who gave us the Unalienable Rights of which our Founding Fathers enumerated some, but not all, of them in our Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States and The Bill Of Rights. Also Pray to God with thanksgiving that our founders created our Republic that we enjoy today.
Also give thanks for the millions of men and women Americans of all descents for their service they gave to us in defending these Rights for us and people all over the world who requested our help in remaining free or for liberation from tyrants. Many of our troops paid the ultimate sacrifice to make and keep us free and it is our duty to make sure we remain that way.
God bless,
Fred

I am a Christian and believe that Jesus died for our sins, beat death by rising on the third day, and Mary, Joana and others were shown the empty tomb by angels. Imagine seeing just the limp burial clothes in the otherwise empty tomb! (See Luke 24:1-8)
I believe in the sanctity of life and we should not murder anyone, including infants in the womb. Read more »
As you may recall from part one, Chip Harrison was unlawfully detained and had his car illicitly searched and his property illegally seized by an officer of the Oklahoma City Police.
Chip then receives a call that the Secret Service is at his home and wants his “permission” to search his house! This is reminiscent of the Communist and Socialist countries’ respect for the rights of their subjects, er, citizens. According to Mr. Harrison, the Secret Service was “very cordial” as they walked through all room of his house and held him and his family captive while they searched and interrogated them. That is what the sign in Chip Harrison’s car window said. Chip is very much Pro-Life and eloquently stated his opposition to the Obama Administration’s practices on abortion. One of the first acts Obama personally did was to make sure our hard-earned tax dollars would be used to support abortion not just in the United States, but also world-wide. In other words, Obama personally ordered the start of world-wide infanticide using our money. Read more »

Talk about liberals and their “caring” for the common person. HA!!! They are ok with the welfare programs to help people, but they only use taxpayers money, not their own.
Google recently laid off (in March and April) a bunch of employees and, for the most part, they went on the unemployment line. Read more »
