A close schoolmate and conservative friend of mine sent me a link and said it was a surprise. It was! A picture was posted that showed a 9th grade production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S.Pinafore. (No, I am not publishing that link.)
A flood of 9th grade memories from the great friends, plays and music performances, Latin Christmas serenades and crazy good ol’ fun to the Midnight Skulker comic strip and reenactment (who was the 9th grade Midnight Skulker, anyway?) raced through my mind.
Thanks for the memories, Jan!
Daydreaming on: apple crisp at lunch, the cafeteria people not letting you have just 4 of these desserts instead of lunch, those horrible 2″ pizzas made from mad Englishman muffin halves that you liked because they were tasty. All the crazy (the good kind of crazy) friends and the…………ZAP!!!……
Oh no! I am back in the present again with the strains of Gilbert and Sullivan fading from my musical brain.
Pelosi is on TV denying she even knows her own name. He is denying she was ever told about waterboarding. She is denying the CIA told her it was being used. And she is blaming the CIA and the Bush administration for misleading her on waterboarding.
Hmmmmm… she is the head of the Intelligence Committee (an oxymoron). As head of this committee, she was the most in-the-know person in the Intelligence community. She had to know everything.
She knew when waterboarding was first used. She knew all of the information that was obtained through the use of these advanced interrogation techniques. Not torture.
Here is an excerpt from a combination of several press interviews with the House Madam Nancy Pelosi:
[press] …so you are saying you were never told about any interrogation techniques.
[madam] I was never told about these, especially waterboarding.
[press] Never?
[madam] Never.
[press] What never?
[madam] This is all the Bush administration’s fault. Vice President Cheney should be on trial for this.
[press] The CIA says they briefed you in 2002 on waterboarding.
[madam] They never briefed me on any of these techniques and definitely did not mention that they were being used.
[press] You are saying the never briefed you?
[madam] They did not.
[press] Never?
[madam] Never!
[press] What never?
[madam] The CIA head should be on trial for this! Bush Lied!
[press] Excuse me, Madam, but Bush was head of the CIA during President Ford’s Administration. Anyway, Leon Panetta, Director of the CIA has presented documents from the last few years that show you were present when the use of these techniques was discussed and you never mentioned anything about them being torture. In fact they show you used the information they produced.
[madam] That is a lie! I was NEVER told.
[press] Never?
[madam] NEVER!!!
[press] What never?
We are still waiting for the “hardly ever”!
Got something to say?
