For years and years, the Democrat Party has been known as the best friend of the poor blacks and they have hoodwinked them into believing this. Hoodwinked, you question? Yes. The Republican Party started with Abe Lincoln and freed the slaves. During the civil rights movement, it was the Republicans that passed the Civil Rights Act.
All of the Southern Democrats fought heavily against this act. Senator Byrd was a full-fledged member of and recruiter for the KKK (Ku Klux Klan) that was infamous for their indiscriminate whole-scale lynching and hanging of blacks. (Condi Rice’s grandfather defended himself from the KKK with his handy shotgun and that along with God’s blessing is probably the only Condi is alive with us now.)
Governor Rod Blagojevich, being enraged at his fellow Democrats for throwing him under the bus before being tried in a court of law, appointed Roland Burris to the US Senate. Roland happens to be black and Rod (who is white) challenged the white Democrats in the Senate to deny seating Senator Burris and “not to hang or lynch the appointee as you try to castigate the appointer.”
The question now is will they seat Roland or won’t they?
Maybe Rod should have appointed a black Republican.
